The Initial Certification Fee is charged once and is related to an Inspection and Certification against the applicable Fairtrade Standard carried out by FLO-CERT. The certification fee system is different for certain organisational structures. Please select your kind of organisation:
ÞFirst Grade Small Farmer Organisation
A first grade small farmer organisation is a legally formed small farmer organisation which is able to contribute to the social and economic development of its members and its communities and is democratically controlled by its direct members. The majority of members of the organisation are small farmers.
Þ Second or Third Grade Small Farmer Organisation
A second or third grade organisation is a small farmer organisation formed by small farmer organisations (members) which are legally affiliated to the 2nd or 3rd grade organisation. The 2nd or 3rd grade is democratically controlled by their direct members. The 2nd or 3rd grade organisation provides central services for its members.
Þ Small Farmer Organisation with a Mixed Membership structure (Mixed Structure)
A mixed structure is a small farmer organisation (First grade) with individual small farmers as legal members and also small farmer organisations as legal members.
Þ Single Plantation
Single Plantations are companies which structurally depend on hired labour and are prepared to promote workers development. A plantation is a single-estate which has one single production site, where one central management is responsible for the labour conditions of their workers.
ÞMulti Estate
Multi Estates are companies which structurally depend on hired labour and are prepared to promote workers development. A multi estate has more than one plantation/production site, but one central management is responsible for the labour conditions of the workers on all of the production sites.
Þ Factories
Factories are companies which structurally depend on hired labour and are prepared to promote workers development. A factory is one production site where a raw product is transformed into a product with higher value.
Þ Contract Production Project
The contract production project represents the partnership between a promoting body and the producer organisation.
